we're all about first aid....

Andrea MacDonald

At Res-Q-Pro, we believe first aid training should be anything but boring. You won't find sleepy lectures, monotone instructors, or endless PowerPoint slides here. What you will find is a lively, hands-on experience packed with real-world knowledge, a healthy dose of humour, and just the right amount of sass to keep things interesting. (Let’s be honest—if you're going to bandage fake wounds, you might as well have some laughs while you do it.)
I’m Andrea, the founder of Res-Q-Pro First Aid Training, and my journey to this point has been anything but conventional. I spent 20 years working as a Commercial Captain, navigating some of the toughest waters on the East Coast. Before that? I spent 12 years in the insurance industry handling—you guessed it—injury claims. I’ve seen it from both ends: what can go wrong, and how to help when it does.
But really, my fascination with the human body started way back. My mom was a Laboratory Technologist at a Halifax hospital, and as a kid, I loved going to work with her. Blood, guts, beakers—it was science magic. That early obsession with how the body works never left me. And while I steered ships and handled claims, I was always the first to grab the first aid kit and jump into action when someone got hurt.
So becoming a Canadian Red Cross Training Partner felt like coming full circle. I'm proud to bring these trusted, nationally recognized courses to people throughout Nova Scotia—especially here in the southwest where practical training can make a world of difference. And at Res-Q-Pro, we don’t just teach first aid—we bring it to life.
Whether you need Emergency First Aid, Standard First Aid, Marine Basic First Aid, or a more advanced course like First Responder or BLS, get ready for a training experience that's informative, empowering, and—yes—actually enjoyable.
Come prepared to learn, laugh, and maybe even save a life. (No pressure.)

Candise Latham

Candise Latham (she/her) became an instructor for Res-Q-Pro Training after moving to Saulnierville from Calgary, AB seeking a get away from living life in the city. Well, she sure found a different way of life in Saulnierville! Her family loves living near the coast and learning about the Acadian way of life. Candise always had goals of becoming a First Aid Instructor, it just took moving here (and meeting Andrea!) to get her going!
Prior to moving here, Candise spent 15 years working to address homelessness in Calgary. She knows the importance of being prepared for an emergency, and the value of having fun while learning. So, yes, you'll have to roll on the floor, and no, we can't start the test now - but we'll make sure to have fun with the time we are spending together!
